The North Face, the premier maker of performance apparel, equipment, and footwear pushes the boundaries of innovation so that their customers can push the boundaries of exploration. Rapt Studio’s design for their headquarters, located in a predominantly windowless warehouse, works to push the boundaries of workplace design – drawing parallels between the vastness of the 100,000 sf of 32’ high ceilings and the great outdoors. Construction was completed under an incredibly tight budget, relying on the design teams’ creative invention to develop the innovative, inspiring and collaborative workspace befitting the culture and personality of the company. While the 30’ high logo at the entry is an outward expression of brand in a big way, the space has fostered the culture of this brand in a manner that is far more meaningful to its inhabitants – constantly reminding each to “Never Stop Exploring”.
This project was the first of many for The North Face and helped to establish a long term working relationship between the apparel giant and Rapt.
