Blink Inc’s streamlined digital process makes professional photography simple and accessible; it was critical their retail photo studios do the same.

 

Their online platform allows customers to book professional shoots, see real-time images as the shoot is happening, and purchase the photos for their own digital and print use—all from the convenience of their mobile device.

 

Blink Inc. wanted to create one unified experience from app to store. Working with Rapt Studio, they reimagined what a shopping mall photo studio might be. Together they envisioned a retail experience that is a continuation of the simplicity and ease of this online app. Gone are the garish backgrounds and frivolous props. The design concept is simple and sophisticated—retooled for the age of selfies. The space channels an industrial professional photo studio with its black, white, and natural palette.

 

The front of house experience is sparse and minimal, as most interaction is taking place across the mobile platform. Views into the bright white photo area are only partially obstructed by wooden louvers. The simplicity of the set area is purposeful so that the subjects of the photography take center stage. A changing area is created by two large black volumes that create privacy.
