The 99U conference—a few words on making ideas happen.
99U Conference is dedicated to making creativity actually happen. We went, we were inspired, and then we came home and procrastinated this blog post.
99U uses Thomas Edison’s famous quote as its rallying cry. And we agree. Genius really is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. At its annual conference, the organization brings together speakers who aren’t just creative, but who are making a quantifiable difference in the world with their ability to buckle down and get things done. You can view the entire roster here. And for the Reader’s Digest version, take a look at some of our takeaways below:
By shifting focus from creativity to execution, brands and businesses have the opportunity to create an output of work with a sharper edge.
Big roll-outs are clumsy in today’s fast paced world. You have to be able to turn on a dime.
Less Bureaucracy Means More Productivity.
The digital has made the line of decisions much shorter.
Small teams move faster. And when you move faster, you get more done.
Whatever you’re working on, be in control. No backseat driving, no shotguns, it’s all about sitting behind the wheel.
As a small-ish studio with big aspirations, the three-day conference was some much needed reaffirmation that great work is the product of hard work. Now stop reading this and get back to work.
